UAMS Starts Dental Residency Program
That was a great day when the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences decided to invite two dentists and these persons will be the first ones who will provide dental care services to patients within the dental residency program. The dentists will be residents of Arkansas as well but they will be well-educated as they will get 12 months of advanced studies provided by experienced faculty dentists. To prepare dentists for serving residents was a mission of the Center for Dental Education.
Those two dentists mean a lot for the organization that is going to expand the number of workers with each year. Among the professionals that are going to appear in the Center, you will be able to see nurses and physicians. The participants of the program were rather excited with a chance to get the proper education and experience. The start of their career could include dental clearing before a surgical operation and thanks to their involvement in the educational process, they are ready to serve the local population.
The intentions of those two local dentists to become skillful practitioners let them practice and provide all sorts of dental services in any possible conditions. Having completed the residency program will help those students transmit from the academics to the real services that they will have to perform each day. Besides, they will be valued highly by employers if there is a choice between an experienced or inexperienced dentist.
The students that will take part in the residency program will not only be engaged in common dental treatment but they will also provide preventative care that will help patients keep their oral health in order and will not let them have any oral conditions in future. Along with the participation in the residency program, the students have two weeks to rotate in other medical programs which will help them get more knowledge in otolaryngology and anesthesiology.
