Elderly Get Dental Care in Community Health Centers

Most of people retire at the age of 65 and they start using Medicare which is considered to be a government supported dental insurance program. The program has been developed to serve the elderly and disabled. But the coverage does not include most of the services and people need to look for the ways to get free dental care services. Besides, about 30% of the retired are using private dental benefits and the rest do not have any coverage at all.
The thing is that a lot of people lose the coverage when a spouse passes away and as a result, they do not have any choice but to use private dental services. The only opportunity the elderly have is to use the services of community health centers. Most of these health centers are oriented on prevention of different dental diseases and people can get the services including diagnosis, X-rays and taking care of dentures.
But, unfortunately, people will not have a chance to get more extensive dental care. The situation in the sphere for dental care is really critical as people do not have a chance to cover the expenses on dental care if they cannot get private health insurance. Most of such people address emergency rooms to get the needed services and money of taxpayers is used when they could be saved. One of such community health centers is called Optimus Health Care and has four offices in Fairfield County.
The elderly can get a range of services including prevention dental diseases, extractions, dentures and crowns. It is the only way out in the situation when the elderly cannot get the needed services and governors need to take certain measures to solve the situation and to increase medical reimbursement rates so that private clinic could serve all the people in need.
