Seniors from Medfield Will Get Free Dental Screening on October, 18
Free dental care campaigns become really popular at the moment and a lot of dentists would like to participate to examine patients and to provide dental care services. Today, Medfield residence has a chance to visit a free dental screening clinic on October, 18. The clinic will not be open for everybody, just senior citizens of Medfield will take an opportunity to have their oral health examined.
Those seniors who would like to participate in these examinations will have a chance to get a dental screening exam as well as an oral cancer screening. Besides, senior citizens will have a chance to get professional recommendations and instructions on the results received during those screenings. Students from the Massasoit Community College will act as volunteers and will provide patients with denture cleaning and labeling. Of course, their work will be supervised by the professional dentists and experienced oral health professionals.
These are not only benefits to be received during this campaign. Citizens of Medfield will be able to talk to a nutritionist from HESSCO and they will learn valuable information on how the proper nutrition influences oral health. This information will also present value for those who have such oral health problems as dry mouth, chewing problems and drug interactions. Another interesting point to be discussed is health insurance and ways to get public benefits from all sorts of assistance programs.
There will be a lot of young volunteers who would like to provide any sort of help to people who cannot receive the proper dental care on time. It is a great opportunity that dentists would screen seniors for oral cancer and at the same time they will get advice on how to fight the symptoms of it if discovered. This project is sponsored by the Neponset Valley Community Health Coalition and the main mission of it is to provide dental services to those people who cannot receive it due to age.
