School of Dental Medicine of the University of Buffalo offers free Dental Care Mayville, New York

The Dentistry Smiles on Veterans program is an initiative promoted by the School of Dental Medicine of the University of Buffalo. The school, through its S-Miles to go program (which has been active for 15 years and helps almost 4,000 patients every year) has set up a fully equipped mobile van with three dental chairs to offer free dental care to low income and/or uninsured patients generally on rural areas of Chautauqua County, a primarily rural area south of Buffalo, NY.
The van counts with the latest dental equipment which is used by University’s dentists, assistants and hygienists.

Inside the van, children can get a variety of dental treatments including:

• Exams
• X-rays
• Cleanings
• Fillings
• Extractions
• Crowns
• Oral health screenings
• Sealants
• Fluoride treatment

This time the University will be honoring veterans and their service to the country. The “S-Miles to Go” dental van will travel to Mayville, New York, for the second consecutive year to offer dental exams,cleanings, fillings and extractions at no cost.

Dental care will be offered Monday to Friday, Aug. 27-31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the Mayville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post at 10 Memorial Dr., Mayville.
